Information and pricing

Let's talk about your plans, your wishes, and your ideas for your wedding photography.  Please feel free to call the studio and talk with Tricia 773 348 6500.
If it easier to meet in person, I have a studio conveniently located in the Lakeview neighborhood in Chicago near Ashland & Addison (about 8  blocks from Wrigley field).  Or let's begin with a phone conversation.   I have many albums and samples for viewing at the studio.

For the past 18 years, Tricia Koning has worked as a professional photographer in the Chicago area.  She heads a boutique studio located in Lakeview neighborhood.  Tricia’s unique and photojournalistic approach to wedding photography has taken her to almost every venue in Chicago, as well as New Orleans, Ann Arbor, Barbados, Amelia Island, and San Fransisco to document her clients’ wedding.  She has a strong ability to remain fresh and unobtrusive while photographing people’s most personal and meaningful day.  Her photographs have been published in many bridal magazines including Chicago Style Wedding, Modern Bride, the Knot, national and local Wedding Bells, as well as on Style Me Pretty and Be U Weddings.

She documents the day in an artistic, unobtrusive and photojournalistic manner. There is so much to experience and photograph during the wedding day, and Tricia and her team are able to capture the bride getting ready, the ceremony, the reception and celebration, and all of the in-between moments with the same energy and originality that produces her unique quality photographs.  Looking for the true candid moments, the beauty and the fun of the day is the ultimate goal.  We love to take photos on location ... in and around your hotel, church, or reception venue, or near the many great backdrops in the city of Chicago.

The packages are inclusive of Tricia and an 2nd photographer who can split up to cover the bride and the groom in their different locations before the ceremony.  A high resolution cd or dvd is included with the edited, and color corrected images in jpeg format.  It doesn't stop there!  The packages include your choice of beautiful traditional matted or contemporary coffee table style album.    After the wedding day, Tricia continues to offer her clients guidance on print orders and wedding albums.  The couple and their parents can choose from a wide range of albums and wall pieces.  She and her studio manager will help custom design your album after we’ve selected your favorite 50-125 images from the wedding day.   These new innovative coffee table, magazine style albums are designed in-house and the final design one is based on your preferences and personal style with a pdf for your approval.

For those clients who would prefer a la carte services, please inquire for availability and rates.  Coverage for Tricia starts 6 hours for $1800, and packages start at $2500.  Associates packages start at $1500 for 6 hours of coverage.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

Q: I'm not a professional photographer. Will I be able to make good quality prints on my own?
A: You need no experience in digital photography to make quality reprints. You can either pick out which photographs you want reprinted and burn them to a new CD to give to your lab, or you can call, fax, or email our studio and we can reorder reprints for you.

Q; Can I still order prints from the studio?  Yes, of course.
A: The biggest advantage ordering reprints from us is that we retouch, color balance all reprints to provide the best quality for each image. We take care of shiny foreheads, blemishes, minimize glare on glasses, and offer "head swaps" if someone has their eyes closed in a group photo.
Artistic filters and retouching can make the huge difference to create a final beautiful image to hang in your home.

Q: Do you offer the images online?
A: Yes. All of our weddings are posted online for you to order prints and have them shipped directly to you. You can view a slide show or individual prints & your families can order their own prints.

Q: I've heard that digital prints don't last as long as prints from film?
A: We only use a professional photography lab, and we do not print with ink jet, as this is not archival.

Q: How many photographs do you typically take at a wedding?
A: Tricia & her assistant typically take over 2000 images at a wedding, and then later, we edit this to the best 500-800 final photos. They often say, ”You took too many good photographs”. I respond that’s a good problem to have.

Q: Are there time or film limits?
A: Our packages are based on 6, 8,  10 or 12 hours of time.  Additional hours or specialized packages are always available. Or if you are having a smaller wedding, we have a 3 hour minimum.

Q: What if your camera breaks?
A: Every piece of equipment has at least one back-up.

Q: Do you bring an assistant?
A: I do bring a second associate photographer, except for weddings with a very small guest list.

Q: What if you are sick and unable to come to the wedding?
A: In the rare event of extreme illness, an associate photographer with similar style and abilities would be contracted to shoot the wedding.  In my 18 years of photographing, this has not happened yet (knock on wood), but I am part of a wide network of photographers to call upon in an emergency.

Q: Are the negatives for sale?
A: We shoot digitally and every package includes the edited and color corrected high-resolution digital files.

Q:  How is the album designed?

When you are ready to select your album, we have a few options to begin the album design.

1) If you are overwhelmed and selecting photographs is time-consuming process, then allow Tricia to select the photos, and design will be presented to you for approval

2) If you’d like to be more hands-on, you may create a "favorites" folder on the web site, drop and drag your favorites into the folder

3) If you don’t like spending time on your computer and prefer the “old-fashioned” way to view photos the older way on proofs, you may add on 4x6" proofs to your package.

Q: Do you shoot table shots?
A:  I do photograph tables if specifically requested by bride & groom or parents of the bride & groom.  If requested, we can do tables of extended family members & special groups of friends. We photograph many candids of the guest during cocktails, dinner & dancing & these are always more interesting.

Q: Where can I find pricing information?
A: Please fill out our Information Request Form and we will reply promptly with our package pricing and details.  6 hours of a la carte coverage with cd is $1800.
